I have a (Gas) Potterton Prima50 B boiler which behaves 98 precent of it time, how ever very occasionally on ignition the main burner lights with a very loud whooph, the flame then appears to burn out of control (Burning in a ball of flame above the gas jets) and the boiler vibrates the whole house.
Is there a slow-ignition device fitted to these boilers ???? if yes could it this jamming open.
This Guy appears to have the same problem

Is the gas valve for a Prima50 B a seviceable Item or is a complete replacement valve requiredA reply from the above post said:Sounds like it is an "exploding gas valve" which means it is sticking to a point where pressure will open it fully.get the guy back he should have spotted this. Or get another opinion from another corgi guy!
