Hello, I am not a plumber but would value some help, I have a Potterton Primaf central heating boiler fan assisted. It it servicing the radiators and hot water tank fine but when its running the boiler is switching on and off frequently with quite a loud click each time which is annoying to say the least, its happening every 15 seconds or so. Two heating engineers have looked at it, the first said it was ok and normal, the second said the flu pipe to the boiler was corroded, affecting the air supply and causing the problem, he said the pipe should be replaced, big job, estimate about £300. I have had a close look at the pipe and its no worse than my neighbours, in fact I think mine is better, it is certainly not rotted! The system was insalled by Barrat when the house was built in 1995, it has be serviced regularly, certainly during my time. Any advice would be grateful.

Cheers Railton in Chester le Street, County Durham
