Hi all,

I seek your knowledge and guidance.

I am carrying out a substantial refurbishment to my house. As part of the refurb i installed a Poruguease Sandstone fireplace. I was prestty chuffed with my efforts too. As i had other stuff to do I covered the fireplace with a dust sheet and carried on with my other tasks. 6 months went by and it was time to lay flooring around the fireplace. I took the dust sheet off the fireplace and too my horror I had a leak in my chimney and over the six month period red brick dust etc has seeped into the sandstone. It is significantly stained.

Simply how do I resolve this issue to get rid of the stain.

Thank you in advance

Bison

I think I would be inclined to try and find a professional to carry out the cleaning, I also meant to ask if you have buildings cover insurance as that may cover it.
