Hi there – looking for some advice on using/pouring concrete to fill in a wall/level off kitchen floor. We have just had a 600mm deep structural inside wall removed that separated our kitchen and living room. The room is split level, as seen in pictures.
We want to level off the floor where the existing wall used to be up to the edge of the wall (keeping the stairs leading up to kitchen area where they are). We are going to be building a half height wall (from the lower room side) where the old wall used to be so the wall/floor does not need to be “aesthetic”, just levelled off enough so we can pour self levelling/put kitchen flooring down up to the edge.
Pretty new to DIY and so looking for best options here… I was thinking of pouring concrete over the floor/wall with a wooden shutter on the living room side whilst pouring the concrete.. but no experience with concrete and if it needs certain factors considered in. i.e bonding agents if pouring straight onto existing brick and mortar/how to etc?
Any advice much appreciated!
