Is it possible to run a power shower with a combi boiler?
I remember a conversation years ago, something to do with seals maybe so it wasn't a recommended combination but I could have got it wrong.
The boiler hasn't been fitted yet so not sure of model or capacity but I'm in the process of planning an en-suite which is currently being built. I'd love a power shower but if it's not possible then it'll be a 9.5kw electric shower.

Thanks all.

a true power shower derives its power form a water pump.
this pump pumps water from the storgae cylinder and the cold water tank

since combis have neither (mine hasnt) you dont have much chance

the plumbers will tell you go for the electric, becasue when your combi breaks down you can still have a shower.

they are not wrong there

Actually a very good point and one which could easily be overlooked.

I suppose being an electrician I should be all for an electric shower but I've yet to use one which really impresses me.

Me three :!:

Mind you see how you feel if your combi breaks. :)

no, not if, when

Didn't want to say as much for fear of giving a biased opinion based on my experience but your right Breezer.

Mind you I'm at the final stages of re-doing my bathroom and had the chance to fit an electric shower instead of a mixer....couldn't bring myself to do it....still my combi is on cover with BG so it'll be fixed straight away :!: NOT
