I have had a new gas boiler fitted and now my power shower does not function as efficiently as it did before. I was on district heating before and I was able to set just the correct water temp from the shower. Now with the new boiler I need to set the heat dial to max before I get hot water and even then the temp fluctuates. Water is hot from the taps so it not that the water is not getting hot enough. Also the noise from the shower motor is not constant. Non of these problems were there before the new boiler was installed. Any ideas?

It is a system condensing boiler.

As it is a new install will the air ( if it is air ) disperse over time or will it need 'bleeding'?

was a new hot water cylinder installed (big insulated copper tank in airing cupboard)

Yes, it was the new improved, built in lagging, heats very quickly type with emersion heater.

Sorry Brumylad, did you mean an expansion tank which is normally installed in the loft? If so then no. With a system type boiler I didn't think you needed one?

first post answers the queery.

Could be your old plumbing gave the pump a dedicated hot water pipe from the old cylinder (like it should be) and the new plumbing from the new hot water cylinder gives the pump water from a branch of the main pipe which comes out of the top of the cylinder.

Try posting a picture of the plumbing arround the new hot water cylinder

No, I checked and the setup is the same as the old plumbing ie none dedicated feed from tank. I have noticed however that the water from the taps is VERY hot. Could it be that the shower cannot cope with the high temp of the water and is over compensating with cold? I presume once the boiler has been 'commissioned' that the temp will be reduced.
