Hi, I use my garage as a workshop. There is no power supply to it, I use an extension cable. On the other side of the garage wall is an unused cooker socket, can I run a spur from it or use it to supply power to a new consumer unit in the garage? Thanks for any help.

If you can disconnect the cable and reroute it through the wall directly to a garage board, then that would work. Garage boards normally have either a 16A or a 32A breaker plus a 6A breaker, so get one which suits your workshop. It will have a 30mA RCD on it too. Then check that the cable size and fuse match your load.
