Hi there I have been all through the paperwork and cannot find any info as to where the prox read area is on the control panel, so I can't enrol and distribute the prox tags. I have both the chicklets and pro tags, I've waved then all over but to no avail. Can anyone help with the best way to enrol these devices, I've enrolled everything else no problems.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello, the Powermaster does not have internal builtin proximity reader (the manual refer to optional proximity reader, but I am not sure if it is commercially available); you must use the KP-141 or the KP-160 as proximity readers; enter tag enrollment menu in the Powermaster (this is available in user menu, not sure if also in installer menu); when the enrollment menu is activated, near the tag to the KP-141 and press "*".

Hi there, thanks for the reply, I have the kp160, I did try adding from keypad but didn't hold the * button at the same time! the installer and user manuals are lacking in some areas! It just says present prox tag.

Thanks again! I will see how I get on.

Hi,

I saw your post and I was wondering if you could advise. I installed my system about a year ago and managed to get some fobs installed then, but I am trying to add a new fob now and it won't work.

I have tried through both the installer and user menu. Through the enrol section as you described, but when I touch it on the KP160 it doesn't enrol.

The KP160 user guide says to do it through the installer menu and press the away key before presenting.

I have also tried doing the same in user and also pressing star as suggested in both. Neither work, could you please advise at all?

Thank you

Dan

Dan,
I have exactly the same problem and cannot add proximity fobs through user settings or the installer menu having tried pressing the away icon and the star icon before presenting. Did you ever manage to add the additional fobs? Tearing my hair out trying to get it to work!
Really appreciate any help you can give.
Thank you.
James

Adding Tags

1: Press “>>” key twice – displays shows ” user settings “.

2: Press ” o.k ” – you will now be asked to enter your 4 digit code.

3: Press ” >> ” until the display shows ” enroll prox tag “.

4: Press ” i/o.k ” – display shows ” Tag no: ” ( black cursor flashing) .

5: Press ” >> ” until you see a ” Tag no: with no black cursor next to it ” ( the black cursor means that there is already a tag programmed in that space )

6: Lift the lid up on the control panel and present the tag next to the tag symbol on the control panel. ( you will hear a “double bleep ” and a black cursor will appear next to the tag no on the control panel screen.

That tag is now learnt in !

7: Pull down the lid on the control panel & press the ” man in the house ” key until the screen shows – o.k to exit

8: Press “i/o.k ” key .

All done !

Deleting Tags

If you wish to delete a Tag

Repeat steps 1-4 from above then,

5: Press ” >> ” until you get to the tag number you wish to delete & press the ” unlock padlock ” symbol, the black cursor will then disappear ( that tag is now out of the system )

Repeat steps 7 & 8.

Thank you, Handymanjo, but the Powermaster 30 doesn't have a tag symbol on the panel (others have mentioned the panel itself does not have a prox reader built-in and I have waved the tag all over the panel and it doesn't seem there is a reader); it seems it has to be done through the keypad but although the keypad beeps when the tag is presented (having gone through the enrol prox tag process on the panel and pressing either the away icon or the star, as different instructions suggest), the LED on the keypad goes out and the panel does not seem to receive any details of the tag.

Hope that helps
Do not forget thanks button ?
