Hi All

I have a powermax 155 boiler, the hot water comes on fine and the boiler lights but when we switch on C/H nothing happens at all, no water movement no pump noises nothing.
We have had the heating off since about february/march but it was working fine then.
If anyone could give me some advice asap as it is freezing here and we have a little baby whose hands are now like ice!!

Thanks,

PF.

are you sure all the controls are calling for heat, room stats etc ? or else you have more or less anwsered you own post the pumps not running. (you could try removing the big screw on the pump after you have turned off the power and inside you will see the drive shaft try turning it with a srewdriver then try the heating again a little water may come out but not too much) note: these boilers have a tank inside which it permantly keeps at temp then pumps it round the heating system when required . best get an engineer to look 50 liters of boiling hot water a 1 bar comming at you is not fun!

faggster i see you took my advice then "small gloves and posting in the right forum would help"

Thanks for your help ratonnastick where do i find the pump????
It is a big cabinet what does the pump look like and do you know how to get the boiler unit open.

Thanks,

2 screws left and right under bottom edge of cabinet. Bottom half of cover then lifts up and off. Pump inside underneath tank, ISTR. Very awkward to get at.

Thanks all,

Got it working,

removed case then undid screw from the second pump on the left hand side which is for heating. turned the screw inside round a couple of times to loosen it up and then put it all back together and turned it on.

Heating runs again no problems.

Many thanks (especially to ratonnastick).

Thanks,

PF
