Seen a load of advice on this forum with regards to the above boiler and was hoping someone may be able to help me out!. . .
It is a Powermax 155 Range boiler installed in 2000 (ish)
serial: s210370
It repeatedly (several times a day) looses pressure and cuts out (lock out). It is turned off, the pressure manually increased using pressure tap , and given a few seconds- usually it will come back on straight away ( but not always).
In order to get any reasonable heating time the pressure is increased above the presumably recommended level (the red indicator on the pressure dial). As hot water is running, you can see the pressure slowly drop.
So couple of questions:
- is it dangerous in its self (does it cut out for safety reasons)?
- is it dangerous to increase the pressure above 2.5 bar?
- Any suggestions on cause and possible solutions?
- associated cost?
All advice is very much appreciated!
Cheers,
Luke
