Approx 1 year ago I had problems with the boiler losing pressure and the boiler locking out. Subsequently I called British Gas and they replaced the expansion vessel which seemed to have cured the problem. However, in the last week or so the boiler has been firing up and heating the rads but when it then needs to relight as the rads cool it is locking out. The pressure gauge shows 1.5bar so that side of things is ok. It can then take 4 or 5 attempts at switching the boiler off/ on before it fires up. Can anyone recommend an engineer in the Milton Keynes area that has experience of servicing/ fixing powermax boilers as intensive research on the internet leads me to believe no-one likes working on these things!
