Hi all - I am new to this forum so hope someone can help!
I have a powermax HE 85, 5 years old.

It regularly loses pressure (I top up every cpl of days), and often flashs low pressure (P0.5) locks out and shows error codes A01 or A02 (often in windy weather interestingly). The pressure also jumps from 1.3 to around 2.5 when warm - is this normal???

I had a radiator taken out 4 years ago and capped off behind a wall - does anyone think it is leaking or is it the heat exchange / expansion vessel. I live in ahard water area (west sussex).

Really hope someone can help me!

sounds like expansion vessel needs recharging or changing plus check or replace prv

Thanks for the comments -

I have heard of expansion vessel failures for this model are common, is the Presuure reducing valve another common one? - if so what are the normal symptoms?

Would these be long / expensive fixes?, and would a water leak not be a possibility? ( suppose it would be difficult to isolate it..)

Many thanks again

Read the FAQ on this site they tell you how to repressurise an expansion vessel.

As far as the gas side of the boiler is concerned they are a rather specialist design and the advice is to call Baxi to service/repair if its a gas.combustion problem.

Other water related aspects can be dealt with by anyone who is competent on your model.

the expansion vessel may have lost its charge OR the flexible hose connecting vessel can get blocked full of merde.
Advice> if doing yourself DO NOT undo nut on vessel with vessel in situ. Remove vessel and tube from boiler, take outside and remove tube (standing well back). Now test/recharge vessel
