Hi Guys,

I was driving on the M25 yesterday, dong 65-70 when all of a sudden there was a slight power-loss/judder. At this point my bowel wanted to empty, I got into the slow lane, previous know as the hard shoulder. Looking in my rear I saw a 38 ton arctic behind me, the van was still driving with no more noises from the engine and only the power-train light on the dash board. I came off at the next exit and parked up. The engine looked and sounded fine, I plugged in my code reader but no codes came up. I drove home and found that people are saying it could be due a service but mine is service every six months. I am hopping to have it plugged into a decent code reader this afternoon, any one got any ideas?

Many thanks

Two things spring to mind, Andy - although this lamp can come on for almost anything engine wise.
1) Fuel filter getting blocked (yours may have red and green colour bands on it and it needs to show green - back right of the engine bay)
2) The dreaded EGR valve is playing up
Unfortunately, neither may throw up a fault code which doesn't help!
John :)

Many thanks for coming back to me John, the fuel filter was changed in September, I do change it every 6 months. But I will check the colour bands, I have just read that the EGR valve could be the problem. I will come back latter on once I have more info from a decent code reader.

These were the codes that came up and cleared:

P037d Glow Plug Relay Sense Circuit
D1?Pi? Fuel Pressure Regulator Performance Circuit

After being cleared and the van turned off and on again, the power-train light came back on again.

Hi Andy , unfortunately i do have the same problem! I bought the van 2 weeks ago with 8200 miles! Now i have 8600 and it’s been in and out of Ford dealer!Aparentley they found water in one of the ECU units ! ‍♂️

Mine got picked up today! Give them a last chance to get it fixed! Apparently there is a common fault! Good luck with your new one!
