Hi all,

Have just completed the main structure of a rear extension where the flat roof is a balcony with all the relevant steel supports in place. Thing is customer has changed her mind and now wants concrete slabs laid on top of the parapet at the perimeter of the roof/balcony - all fine but ....

Thing is the parapet is not masonary and is structured from timber so question is a solution for the best fixing of the slabs to the timber plate and thereby maintaing a weatherproof seal We would be fixing the slabs onto a continuous DPC without doubt.

I have a few ideas but need further input please, maybe theres a ready made stainless fixing system just for this ?

Mnay thanks :D

If you are weathering the wall with lead you could use lead seal which will stick masonary to lead, and also there are stainless steel clips that you get with dry ridge systems with a 4" spax timber anti corrosion screw.

If its a balcony with access, the wall needs to be 1070 mm high, and she wants copings on that
