Hi,

Need a bit of help I've removed all the tiles from my bathroom and kitchen

and I am left with a mixture of damaged plasterboard and plywood walls

Now the questions please

What type of plaster finish do I repair the plasterboard and what to do with

the plywood.

thanks for all replies

I think skimmed PB has a weight limit of 20kg per m2 so you might be okay to repair / skim if you're tiles aren't too heavy.

Plasterboard's cheap. If it's knackered why not replace it / overboard it with new if you don't mind the lost space? Unskimmed plasterboard is better for tiling (32kg m2) than skimmed so don't skim finish it.

Plywood isn't good to tile onto. If it's in the bathroom can you replace with MR Plasterboard? Especially if it's in the shower area - if it's in the shower replace with Marmox.

The kitchen environment isn't as demanding as the bathroom so you'll get away with less careful prep.

Thanks for reply Adam I will go for new plasterboard I will have to adhere to

plywood the ply is very thin and will not take any fixings.
