Hello,

I did a very quick job of painting my sandstone sills when we had so work done to the front of my house. But within a few days most of the white masonry paint had started to yellow (looks like the sandstone is coming through).

Were having some more work done and the scafold is back up so time to have a second crack and do the job right.

What do I need

Help

Cheers
Matt

hi it sounds like you used water based masonry paint, which can stain on sand stone, just use oil based masonry paint it should do the trick.
give them at least two or three coats.

Along with time, white color turns to be somewhat yellowish. Area needs to be repainted timely. To avoid yellowish tinge for long time use oil based colors instead of water based.
