I am a slow DIY'er and tend do things over a longer period. I need to do some caulking. I won't be able to use much. So I want to preserved the opened caulk. How can I do this reliably over a very long period? With silicone, I can just wrap the whole tube in cling film and put it in the freezer. Can I do the same with non-silicone caulk? I plan to use this caulk: https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-exterior-decorators-caulk-white-310ml/9735h

Caulk doesn't go off quickly.
You can leave the tube open and then just push out the little dried blob near the nozzle next time you use it.
Silicon in freezer???
Never heard of that.

Yes, freezer works for silicone and extends opened tube indefinitely. Works for silicone engine gaskets as well. Should be given a small amount of time to defrost or it could be lumpy at places.
