Pressure equalizing valve.

Looking at purchasing a steam room shower enclosure and I have read you sometime need a pressure equalizing valve to equalize the hot and cold pressures what feed the enclosure. It is a enclosure that is connected directly to central heating and cold mains. Is there a way to determine if I need to purchase one of these ?
