Hey is there any solution for a pressure gauge that is stuck on 1 bar no matter if you drain or refill the system. Or does it need a new pressure gauge?

Drain the boiler, take the gauge out and look for blockage where it connected, tap out the end of the gauge?

Thanks what is the best way of draining the boiler thou as I dont like touching the iso valves on the boiler as they can be prone to leaking, pipework to the boiler is fed off a drop

Does the boiler have a drain point? You could use the PRV although this may need cleaning or replacing if it doesn't re seal.

Crack a union and use a wet vac? Cut in a self cutting drain cock and then install a compression tee and drain cock after?

Very common and easy to unblock. Depressurise system and drain via boilers drain point. Check your manual to locate it. Remove and clean gauge and its connections.

Thanks are the boiler drain points a bugger for not re-sealing after opened to drain down? Like the boiler iso valves can be

Thanks I will drain by the boiler drain point then, but I don't think I will isolate the flow and return connections to the boiler. These are the ones that have a tendency to leak once used?

What boiler have you got? On a pressurised system i never touch isolation valves apart from new boilers as when pressure is released an open end wont leak water

Is an old one so I maybe best of not touching them. If I release the pressure via the drain off down stairs. Then remove the gauge should not too much water come out as it will be air locked?

Y not pay someone to do it, if your asking about draining before fitting then i dont think you should attempt to repair

Is the boiler at the highest or lowest point ?
