I have a eurocal 70/90 combi boiler. What air pressure should there be in my pressure vessel when the water pressure is 0 bar and the system is cold? The system supplies an average size 3 bedroom two storey house.
The air has to provid the equivalent head to the height of the system, so 0.5 bar will give 16ft, and 0.8 would be more than adequate. Your boiler should work on both, but understand some boilers seem to need a bit more. Your instruction manual should tell you.
The water pressure should be set to 0.2 bar above the air pressure.
Charged the pressure vessell with a footpump to 0.8 bar and tightened up a compression joint to stop a minor leak - Everything now works fine, and the water pressure in the system has remained steady for two days now.
