Hi all,

Looking to replace our roof with new plain clay tiles. There seems to be massive difference in the cost of the tiles... Is there really a difference in the quality? Happy to spend out if it's worth it; we're hoping for this to be a 'forever house'.

For example, these are the options I've currently been given from a few difference merchants:

Edilians Plain Tiles Val De Seine - £0.57 per tile
Redland Clay Rosemary Plain Tile Medium Mixed BrindleRosemary - £1.13 per tile
Terreal flamed red tiles - ~£0.60

Currently thinking with just going with the Edilians.

What's the deal with the difference in pricing? They're just flat plain tiles...

Thanks

Availability - you may have to buy the cheap ones by the pallet. You might find it difficult to get replacements in the future.

Quality - there could be a lot of misshapen tiles or throw-outs.

Appearance - colour disparity amongst batches. They may also not sit as well as a better quality tile.

User unfriendly - there could be issues with the nail holes or lack of, etc.

The Imerys are ok , decent to use . Your price is a little high I would expect low 40p
The mmb price is a joke .

Look to buy somewhere else
