We're looking at replacing our 4x9 lawn with artificial grass. We've had someone out who has given us a quote to remove 100mm, put down grade 1, a weed barrier and granite dust, then install a timber boarder along with a pressure treated timber frame to fix the grass down to. The grass itself will be 32mm.
The quote for this has come in at £4k including vat. We've had an 'estimate' from someone else that's £3.5k.
My first question is, does this price seem reasonable for 36 square metres?
My second question. I have some concerns over the use of a timber frame to fix to the grass down to. Won't it only last a few years before it starts to rot? Is this standard practice?
When looking for people to do the word, is there anything specific I should be asking for?
Thanks in advance.
