I am shortly to build a small partition in my house and want it part glazed. I intended to use plastic sheet but translucent stuff is rather expensive. ( its dividing a bedroom so cant be clear sheet) Can anyone advise if glass would be cheaper. TIA

depending on where it is and what size it is, it would need to be safety glass.. don't want anybody going through it..
would likely be cheaper to use pollycarb..

what's wrong with glass bricks? too costly?

Dividing a bedroom? You'd hear every fart like it were in your half.

Try going down to the recycling centre, or put a wanted ad in the free paper, for secondary glazing units, they are thin, safety glass and very cheap, as they are custom made, so of little use to anybody else. I am sure they will be easily secured in a plywood partition, with a vent put in the at the base and top. The cost of polycarbonate sheeting is prohibitive, and twice the price of that in USA, why?

try clear plasterboard.... it will do everything that you want your partition to do.........

You've both shattered my hopes of there being a sensible answer to this one.
