We are currently looking at buying a property in Anglesey and want an approximate estimate on building costs for adding a second storey to a single storey cottage. Part of the building is already 2 storeys and we plan to raise the single storey section of the cottage to 2 storeys. Can anyone help with a ballpark figure on what we might be expected to pay to add an upper storey to the same roof level as the two storey section, if this is based this on the single story section measuring say 14 M long x 4 M deep. I am looking for just the basic building cost to raise this section to one level (two storeys) all the way along the building and to include all roof trusses and roof tiles but excluding plumbing, electrics and plastering, for now.
We need this information to help plan our total spend prior to going any further. Once we have decided on a suitable property we will then be looking for a builder to carry out this work. We only need an approximate build cost for now and appreciate there could be variables.
Thanks for any help with this?
