I have had a wall mounted thermostatic shower valve installed but it doesn't work properly due to insufficient water pressure even though the cold water tank is over 1.5 meters above (& only 1 meter need according to the manual). I have purchased a 1.4 bar shower pump to boost the water supply. My question: Is it ok to connect the pump to a Primatic hot water cylinder (as this is what I have)? If not what sort of cylinder do I need as a replacement (I have gravity fed hot water & the cylinder I have is approx 3 feet tall)? Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

At first sight someone would expect that it would work.

In reality the suction surge from the pump might cause heating water to be sucked out of the rads into the hot water.

You will need to fit an indirect cylinder and a F& E tank for your heating. Best to flush it out too.

It will be well worth the cost to get rid of the primatic.
