Hi,
I have 4 wooden chairs and table legs to restore. I bought them a couple of years ago from someone who had restored them himself from its original state but the paint didn't take long to start coming away from the wood. It's clear he didn't use any primer and I'm sceptical whether he had sanded back to the bare wood too as the surface under the paint looks slightly shiny like a satin or old varnish. Anyway, I will be sanding it back to bare wood as it should but my question is; what is the correct type of primer, paint and protective clear top coat to use? I want the top clear protective coat to be a matt finish if possible.
Thanks in advance
