Priming new plaster

Gents,

I have just had some new plastering done (walls and ceiling) now that it has dried out, do ineed to prime the new plaster prior to painting

I have heard of a watered down emulsion being applied to seal the surface. Is this the best method or should I use a proper primer, and if so what should I look for

Watered down emulsion is fine....50-50 normally does it.
