One of the family has a bath inset into a tiled surround- I suspect it's been there since before an electric shower was added. The problem is that the shower water sprays between the wall and the outside of the bath lip, then flows around onto the floor.

They will be renovating, but not for a while.

Any ideas for solving the problem?

I'm thinking of raising the tile level up around the bath, so most water flows back into the bath. Bad idea?

Thanks.

Can you fit a shower screen along the edge to stop water spilling over?
A pic would help...

Yeah, shoulda taken a snap...

The bath has a 2" wide, 1/2" deep 'moat' around it on 3 sides. My thinking is, if the moat were level with the bath on 3 sides, most of the spray water would run back into the bath.

This might help show the problem. Adding a shower to this bath invites a water flow like the arrows. The bath in question has about 2" wall-to-bath lip on three sides.

Is the shower head above the taps?
Perhaps a strip of coving along the marked edges would help water bounce back into the bath but that's a gnarly set-up.

It's a tough one- it's just not meant for a shower. I'll just have a go at a fix till it all gets ripped out- try and get as much run-back into the bath as possible. Cheers.
