I have a Peugeot 207 which has developed a fault. It locks itself as soon as the driver side door is closed. When I get out of the car and shut the door the car locks itself where as I used to have to press the button on the fob. I thought at first I may have activated a feature but apparently this isnt the case.
If the keys are in the ignition it doesn't lock itself when I close the door. If other doors are closed it doesn't happen, only happens when the driver side door is closed.
This effectively means that it is now ridiculously easy to lock the keys inside the car!
So far the only thing iv thought of the check is a fault on the fob itself. To rule this out I decided to take the fob I usually use and take it far front he car and then try locking/unlocking with the spare fob. The problem was still there.
Before I hand it over to an auto electrician Im hoping for some suggestions of things to try which could be simple which I can rule out. Im thinking along the lines of a fuse or a misaligned sensor or a contact which could be cleaned, I really don't know!
Any ideas?
Cheers.
