Hi all - I would appreciate some advise on the issue with my boiler:
I have just moved into a new house and found this Kingfisher MF cf50 boiler, which I am told was only installed 3 years ago but it looks a lot older to me ...
It works though but is slow in warming up the radiators and it does a lot of unhealthy sounding clicking. So I checked and realised that when the radiators are fairly warm - the flame switches off, then there is a lot of clicking which sounds to me as if the flame is trying to come back on but something overrides it. That goes on for 5 mins before finally the flame switches back on. It'll then run for 2 mins heating, before doing the exact same thing.
The same happens with the hot water.
At the moment I suspect the return is warm enough so the flame switches off then the temperature sinks by the most minute amount which causes the flame to be switches on again, teetering around the temperature switch off point.
I have no idea if this is even a possible reason. I would appreciate your help. I am concerned this much of clicking will cause the boiler to fail soon, and obviously because the flame is more off than on it takes quite a while to heat the radiators / hot water.
Pleas help.
