problem with myson apollo fanfare boiler?

just moved into a new flat about a week ago and the heating's not working! first of all the boiler was lit but the timer was set to the wrong time so corrected that and still nothing the boiler did ignite but when it did there was a creaking/banging noise from the pipes and still no heating! as of this morning though the pilot light has gone out and cant seem to re-ignite it any ideas?

any help is greatly appreciated
