I have had windows fitted and the company has removed my vertical damp proof course. they say not needed but I doubt this as the risk from damp penetration has not changed. Anyone got a copy of the British Plastic Federation Code of Practice for Installation of Windows?

You should always have a damp barrier to all vertical openings. either damp proof course or a suitable cavity closer (usually plastic) that bridges the cavity and acts as insulation and damp barrier. (see thermabate website) If your blockwork has been returned then you will have to use damp course.

regards.
