I am in process of refurb at the mo' and have reached paint time.
I have painted the walls with Valspar emulsion - no probs, went on fine and covered well.
Have now started painting wood with Valspar Premium - water based eggshell (or so I was told).
Having stripped wood back, first coat was a primer/undercoat.
Second coat was the Premium. Seemed ok.
Next coat (because of a colour change) was again Premium. This time however, paint seemed to 'ball up' and come off as I tried to feather in. In fact, it was almost as though the paint was drying far too quickly and lifting off on the brush as I tried to meet newly applied with a new brush load. The feather in attempt just made a horrible mess.
Has anyone experienced this, or is this just a one-off?
