Hello,

I’m hoping someone can help me.

We’ve just had an Aqualisa Quartz shower installed and we’re having nothing but problems with it.

When you first get in, it’s amazing, however it only gives out 7 minutes of hot water before it turns freezing cold. You can then turn it off for just 5 minutes and then get another 7 minutes of hot water out of it. I timed it, and the hot water turns freezing cold like clock work after around 7 minutes every single time, regardless of how much hot water you’ve used around the house. This issue started the first time we used the shower and has continued ever since.

Today, I stayed in past the 7 minute mark and continued with the a cold shower for the first time and things got stranger. After about 10-15 minutes the water cut out completely and then started aggressively spluttering warm water. You could hear the pump (or processor?) making loud revving noises in the loft and the water flow alternated between nothing, trickling, aggressive spluttering and then extreme pressure (much higher pressure than normal).

For reference, we don’t have a combi boiler and the fitters said our hot water tank (in the airing cupboard) is large enough that we shouldn’t be having any issues with our hot water running out. We also didn’t have any hot water issues with our old shower.

If anyone has had this issue before or knows what might be going on, I’d really appreciate your advice as I’d like to try and get this sorted asap so we can enjoy our new bathroom.

Thank you!

If your installer cannot rectify the problem under warranty then get him to ask for an Aqaliser specialist to look at it.

I would suggest the float valve in the cold water storage tank is replaced, as it sounds like the tank is emptying out and then refilling after 5mins.
