not sure about this subject really.
I think that at the moment prostitution is surrounded by seedy circumstances which is not good.
I have had little contact with prostitutes, in fact only two women (one being a sixteen year old girl).
This was in a work capacity.
It is quite sad though that the money earned by them did not buy a luxurious lifestyle.
It funded a drug habit.
I do believe that if you put aside the the religious issues about sex and the fidelity issues, that there is an argument to legalise it.
In fact payment for sex is not illegal.
It is only the soliciting that is (and brothel offences)
If people are not being unfaithful and are not exploiting anyone, then what is the harm?
Im not sure if I think it is ok or not... im simply not sure.
But if it is a service and no one is being degraded or forced then who does it harm?
I dont know any 'high class call girls', the two females I came accross were unfortunately not a good advert for promoting the good of prostitution.
I doubt that we will ever as a society be able to walk into a high street premises for sex without having a stigma attached!!
