Protect Oak Floor

I recently installed an oak floor and I've been putting felt pads on furniture to protect the floor. I'm about to put some heavy bookshelves in the room. They're the freestanding style, but I'll fix them to the wall with a bracket.

Do I need to put padding on the bottom of the shelves? Obviously they won't be moving around, but they're very heavy when loaded up...
