Protection of new uPVC windows

Hello,

I had some new UPVC windows and doors fitted about 2 weeks ago and I looking to give them their first clean soon. Is there anything that people recommend is best for preserving the windows to keep them looking like new for longer. The window fitter said washing up liquid and a non-abrasive cloth will do fine, but can anything be fitted to help them repel dirt and keep shine? I had thought something like car wax / silicone spray possibly but didnt know if anyone had any recommendations.

I have heard car wax will do the job , never tried it to be honest. I suspect it would only work on white windows.
