I was round a friends house the other day and he was complaining about the lack of hot water from his Protherm 80e combi.
The DHW temperature rises to and maintains about 32 degrees but goes no higher.
Didn’t have any proper tools on me but from what I can see the following is true:-
1) Flow rate on hot water side pretty good
2) No scale inhibitor of any sort fitted
3) Boiler fires up and goes to full flame, does not modulate down (that I can see)
4) Boiler does not cycle
5) Heat does not seem to be escaping through the CH flow
The obvious answer might be the DHW HE, but the symptoms do not seem to support it. My mate is miles away, so popping over to check bits is a bit problematic.
Any ideas or Protherm experts?
