About to put some turf down in the next two or three weeks and I'm busy shifting about 7 tonne of earth out of the garden to get it somewhere level. The area to be turfed is only 8.5m x 6m. However, one side is really good soil and drains really well, and the other side is very bogged down with clay based soil. After last night's rain the clay side has quite a bit of standing water. I know that I'll need to do something with this side before I turf it. I was thinking of: -
1. Digging a bit further down on that side and laying more topsoil
2. Adding a few bags of sand to that side of the garden and turning it in
Any other siggestions?
Cheers
