I'm trying to help a friend of mine whose husband has set up elsewhere. She is having trouble with a pull cord light switch in her bathroom. Her son took it off to replace but cant work out what to do and the instructions have been thrown away. There are 2 wall lights each side of a mirror and these give the only lighting in the room and both are controlled at the same time with the same switch. There are 6 cables coming through the ceiling, 2 red, 2 black and 2 earth. Where do they go? Do you join the 2 reds together and put them in one socket, likewise the 2 black and if so which sockets do they go in? In the plastic piece that fits to the ceiling there is a brass socket. Do I presume both earth leads go into this.
