i belive its supposed to be a special type of cord not ordinary string, i think both for reasons of electrical isolation and staying in nice condition for the years its going to be there.

That is such a great word - "doohickey", I've never heard it before, but will be using it from now on.

I looked it up and it means what I would call a"thingymabob". Brillliant. I met a girl from Cornwall once and she said the word is "oomajaflip".
 
discombobulated is a great word too, not sure what it means. 15 letters long, wow, thats good for me.

It means, "I have been thrown into a state of confusion". Good word, I shall be using that too.

"I have been discombobulated by the doohickey".
