Hello,

Boiler:
Worcester Greenstar CDI combi boiler.

Problem:
Friend has just had complete new loft conversion, radiators are going to be fitted there, but installer says the pump on his boiler is too weak.

Solution:
Installer says the boiler must be moved to the middle floor if he wants radiators in the new loft room.

Research:
I done a bit of research and I believe that you only need a stronger pump if you have a very large house.

House type:
3 bed terraced house.

Will the boiler need to be moved?
Can you have two pumps?

Thank you.

Sounds like a builder and not a boiler engineer!

Unless there is some very special circumstances then its complete nonsense.

I dont expect he will be CORGI registered so he should not be touching boilers let alone giving incorrect advice!!

I agree, tell your friend to ignore this idiot.

Pumps in combi's are usually always the equivalent of a 15/60 so should be powerful enough unless you need about 30Kw of rads or more working off them.

I have no idea of the installer he is using but I will let him know.

How high can the pump in this boiler pump?

Pump is really a mis-used word. Heating pumps are really just circulators.
