System: Baxi Solo 2 40, running 6 rads upstairs, 4 downstairs, fitted in a 6 yr-old Redrow 3-bed house. The question is - what speed should the pump be set at? It's flat out now but I've heard conflicting advice - should it run slower to allow the water more time to give off heat in the rads? or should it be as fast as poss to move more water through?

Any advice would be appreciated guys.

Pump should always be put on the slowest speed possible to heat all the radiators up :D

Just fit an Alpha as it does it all for you ;)

So you can fit it to systems with 2 ras or systems with 20 rads. Also the resisten of the pumped water ciruit must be taken into account ie is the system microbore.

As a general rule though, YES the slower you can run the pump the better.

I see, said the blind man. I turned it to its slowest speed last night and the house certainly seemed warmer, though that may have been me imagining it! Thanks for the info.
