I don't quite see what you're trying to achieve here. You say there is no mains hot water, do you mean there is no hot water at all, or the hot water is low pressure not mains pressure? Are you converting the barn to a house?

Why do you want an electric boiler? It'll be expensive to run.

What are you intending to use the rainwater for? It can be used for flushing toilets and washing machine feeds etc, but it'll need some serious filtration and purification before you can have it coming out of your taps. Need much more info about what you're trying to achieve

just read my first post as clear as mud haha its a very remote place only got electric supply ,there is no water at all except water from a well that has just been sunk, got info for filtration etc just need to find out if i can pump it into my hot water storage tank
(mega flow or tribune hot water tank)
thanks

So I take it this is a complete barn conversion starting from scratch? Are you sure the electric supply is big enough to cope with an electric boiler? You should get an electrician to advise before you buy one - they draw huge amounts of power. Have you considered LPG gas, either as bottles or as bulk storage? You can get an underground LPG tank installed if you don't want one on the surface.

Provided the water is correctly filtered (which it should be anyway if you're going to be drinking it) there's no reason why you shouldn't pump it into an unvented hot water cylinder. Of the two you've mentioned I'd take the Megaflo over the Tribune all day long, but I'd take an OSO Super S over both of them, well worth a look.
