Punto brake light problems.

Hello All.

A brake light has stopped working on my old Punto, I took the 'lamp unit' out and the lamp is fine ! However, I have noticed that the light on the interior 'fog lamp' button is coming on when I brake .

I was going to see if I have power up to the lamp, and if not, loop a feed from the working side ? Any other help or suggestions please.

If lights come on when other lights go off, or should come on, this usually points to a bad earth. Check all earths of all wires involved. They should be clean and make good contact with the body of the car. I would change all the bulbs just to eliminate a bad bulb.

Also check are the fuses.

I wouldn't loop a feed from the other lamp purely because they are designed so that if the fuse goes, then one light will always light up. (or is that just headlights and tail lights?!!)
