Punto cold starting problem

My 10 year old punto has just recently (since the cold weather has come in) having difficultly starting up first thing in the morning.
It does start eventually after a few turns and u put your boot down on the pedal.
It starts first time after that for the rest of the day.
Strange

When was it last serviced?

... and do you have a diesel or a petrol engine?

petrol engine and yes she was serviced about a couple of months ago during her MOT
