I'm about to alter a pipe for my new toilet.
However the pipe i need to alter will be eventually behind plasterboard.
I'm tempted to us push fit joins.

Has anyone done this or recommend doing this.

I donnot want to solder as the space where the pipe is, is very tight and next to a wooden frame.

any advice would be appreciated.

I've heard that you aren't supposed to use compression fittings under floors... but pushfit are ok. So logically, I guess that using pushfit is acceptable behind plasterboard.

Alternatively, if you can solder? use a heat mat (or a spare tile) to protect the studding whilst you solder the joint???

And check for leaks before putting up board!

Good luck

have fitted kitchens and bathrooms for 15 yrs, push fit are fine, just make sure - clean cut pipe - insert inserted - joint pushed fully home, used then for 3 years, no call backs yet !!
