not unless its imperial depends how old are you talking about ?
If it goes over the pipe it iwll probably be fine.
If it is old 1/2" then it might not fit easily over.

Generally 1/2" to 15mm and 1" to 28mm is ok.
3/4" to 22mm needs a imperial to metric adaptor.

1/2" and 1" gernally work, btu metric fittings sometimes are snug fitting.

Some of the old 1/2" copper was measured ID and was quite thick walled so some cleaning / filing of the pipe has to be done.
Speedfit do a 1/2" imperial to 15mm adaptor but Hep2o don't, you could try a compression fitting but you may have to file the pipe a little.
