I'm in the middle of fitting a new kitchen and need to fit a new sink waste. The current waste is 40mm push fit so I will be using the same in order to extend the existing piping.
I notice that DIY stores sell silicon lubricant for push fit waste connections. Is this purely to make it easier to push the fittings together or does it assist with sealing the joint to prevent it leaking?
