Hello,
Not sure if this is the right place, but here goes...
I am getting a new kitchen put in and for part of the building work I am getting a range cooker sunk into the chimney breast. The range cooker is 60cm deep (and about 110 wide) adn we will only be able to sink it in abotu 30 - 40 cm (builder needs to open up to confirm exactly) with the rest coming out. I am need to order an extractor for above it but am a bit stumped as what kind to get. My thoughts at teh moment are:
It seems that an integrated/canopy one is the right one - like this http://www.rangecookers.co.uk/Product.aspx?id=812. However, this is 40cm deep - which means we can't use it if we can only go 30cm into the wall. Also, even if it does fit it, it won't cover the whole hob as it is shorter and narrower.
OR get a black hood like this
http://www.rangecookers.co.uk/Product.aspx?id=527 and try to get the builder to build it into the wall so that it will stick out a bit. Is this a pointless amoutn of faff? It seems the most logical solution to me because then ti will cover the whole cooker. However, it will mean the builder has to go quite 'high' and will end up just plastering most of it in.
Any advise is HUGELY appreciated as i need to get this ordered this week.
cheers
